PRO-TECH specializes in contract assembly and packaging for medical device customers. We have a highly skilled team of packaging experts with experience in automated and manual assembly.
SITUATION
A diagnostic company developed a proprietary test to diagnose patient symptoms. The company designed a kit for patients to collect samples and mail the kit to the lab for testing. Initially, as volume was small, the company used its own team to assemble the kits.
However, as the volume increased, they could no longer handle the demand. As a result, they needed to decide whether to set up their own facility or find an experienced contract manufacturer to manage the project.
ACTION
The customer contacted PRO-TECH to see if we had the expertise to handle the complex assembly. First, they wanted to be sure that we had a robust quality control process. Secondly, it was important to them that we could scale quickly to handle the high-volume requirements.
Specifically, the customer required that the contract manufacturer be:
• ISO 13485 certified
• FDA registered
• Experienced in assembling and packaging complex kits
• Adept at managing serialized products
RESULTS
PRO-TECH was awarded the contract and quickly set up assembly and packaging specifications. Each kit contained over 15 components and required extensive training to correctly assemble the product.
Within 7 business days, PRO-TECH had assembled, packaged, and delivered the completed kits to the customer. This resulted in a successful product ramp-up. The customer was thrilled. And, they are still a satisfied customer today.
