Pam McMaster, CEO/Founder

We wanted to take a different approach this month. In recognition of PRO-TECH Design’s 40th Anniversary, we are spotlighting our Founder & CEO, Pam McMaster.

Pam started the company in her family room in 1980. The inspiration for the company came from a belief that she could provide better, more personalized packaging services to her medical device customers. At the time, she was working as a packaging sales representative calling on medical device companies and had recently relocated from Minnesota to Southern California. What she saw was a growing, diverse customer base who needed customized packaging solutions rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

So, with the backing of a customer and some serious fortitude, Pam decided to take the leap and launch her own company. From the beginning, her guiding principal was ‘Customer First’, and it is still one that we emphasize today. We place a high value on our customer relationships and take pride in how we build partnerships that last for many years. In fact, that very first customer is still a customer 40 years later!

As a woman in a primarily male-dominated industry, Pam overcame the odds and created a successful company. From those humble beginnings in her living room, PRO-TECH has survived economic downturns, several office moves, and even a commercial fire. Adaptability has been a hallmark of our success, and today, the company has over 130 employees, two manufacturing facilities, and services over 130 customers across the U.S. and internationally.

Along the way, two of her sons, Aaron and Jeff, joined the company and have played a major role in its growth. The family connection continues to be an important driver for Pam as she strives to create a company culture that values its people and builds a strong sense of community. Many of our employees have been with the company for over ten years, which speaks to the kind of personal culture that Pam has championed over the years.

It is a fantastic story of success and perseverance and we are proud to recognize Pam and to represent the company she has created. We have celebrated births together, mourned deaths together, and cared and supported whole families over the company’s history. It has been a privilege to be part of a place that positively impacts so many employees, customers and patients.
