This month we are spotlighting a team member from our Arlington, TX office. Anna Valdez is a customer
service representative who started with PRO-TECH Design 2 ½ years ago.
She and our General Manager in Arlington worked together at their previous employer. He recognized
talent when he saw it, so after he left, he recruited her to join him at PRO-TECH.
A native of the Dallas area, Anna grew up not far from the Arlington office. As they say, everything is
bigger in Texas, and apparently that applies to High Schools as well. She went to one of the largest high
schools in the country with over 4,500 students!
After high school, she enrolled at the University of Texas, Arlington, and also started working part-time
at the aforementioned company. She worked there for 7 1/2 years and had a great experience. The
company helped pay for her college, employed both Anna and her mom, and she met her eventual
fiancé there too. Very productive.
However, when the opportunity came to join PRO-TECH, she jumped at the chance. Anna is a good
example of a continuous learner that wants to be constantly challenged to learn and grow. This is one
of the reasons she was attracted to PRO-TECH and enjoys working here today. In the brief time she’s
been here, she’s been involved as a production planner, an HR contact, and a customer service
representative. She even helped design the warehouse organizational system to keep track of
inventory. Bottom line, she has successfully worn many hats and has adapted beautifully to each while
making significant contributions and expanding her knowledge base.
The Texas office has grown significantly since she’s been there. When she started, there were
approximately 35 employees, and now they have almost 60! This expansion was needed to keep up
with the growing customer demand the facility has seen in the past few years. For Anna, it has been an
exciting time to be part of the company and seeing new projects and new customers welcomed to the
fold. She wanted a company that was growing and would stretch her, and where she could add her
stamp to the culture.
One of the things she enjoys most about her job is building relationships with her medical device
customers. She believes that transparency is key to a good partnership, and she takes pride in working
closely with her customers to build trust and connection. Her customers have remarked how they
appreciate her and how nice it is to have a dedicated customer service person in the Arlington office,
who knows the local operations and can quickly respond to any questions affecting their project.
Outside of work, she is getting married in a few months, so that is taking up much of her time. She also
is a self-described “foodie” and she and her fiancé enjoy trying out new restaurants. Next time you visit
the Dallas Metroplex, she recommends Blue Sushi Saki and the Legacy Food Hall in Plano.
Anna, you have been a terrific addition to the team, and we look forward to watching you continue to
grow and develop with the company. You are off to a great start! Thank you for the positive impact you
are having already.
