Christian has an interesting backstory and we thought he would be a great person to highlight this month. He started with the company nearly seven years ago. His first role was an office contractor worker answering phones and greeting guests. However, the team quickly saw his potential and hired him full-time. With experience, training, and enthusiasm, he was given more and more responsibility. Eventually, after helping with several HR projects, he officially moved into a full-time role in HR. It was there that he really found the role he was built for – helping people.
The youngest of six kids, Christian is a Los Angeles-native. He grew up about 30 minutes from PRO-TECH headquarters. He was always into sports, and as a kid got involved in baseball very early on. He led his high school team to a regional championship. He still follows the sport closely and if you ask him the score of last night’s Dodgers game, he will inevitably know it and who hit one out.
Along the way, he went to a cousin’s wedding and found the love of his life. After dating for only three months, his girlfriend (now wife) got a great opportunity to go to Columbia University in New York City for social work. Too good an opportunity to pass up, but also a long way away from Los Angeles. But they figured it out, and today are married and have a 7-month-old son.
Since joining the PRO-TECH, Christian has seen the company change quite a bit. Headcount and the number of customers has grown significantly during that time and has evolved the role of the HR department by necessity to keep up. From a time when he used to know everyone by name to now having to work with over two hundred employees across three States, it has become much more complex, but also a richer experience.
For Christian, this has mirrored his career growth, and it has been a great opportunity for him to learn and grow. To complement his work experience, he will be taking a certification program for Professionals in Human Resources and is considering a degree in HR.
He likes that the company remains family-owned and has kept the overall family feel of the organization. It makes it a great place to come to work every day.
Christian, we are lucky to have you, and appreciate the smile you have on your face every day and how you take care of everyone at the company.
