This month we would like to spotlight someone from our Print Production Department. Sandy Alvarado is a Lead in the department and is responsible for managing a team of label technicians, and making sure that all labels are accurate, clear, and produced up to our quality standards. Sandy has been with PRO-TECH Design for approximately six years, and she was recently promoted to her new role.
During that time, she has seen the company grow quite a bit, with more customers, more people, more complex projects, and more responsibility. She likes the ever-changing nature of the projects, and she finds it keeps things interesting and fresh.
Labels are a critical, but often overlooked component of medical devices. In fact, the FDA has specific requirements for labeling that an OEM or Contract Manufacturer must adhere to. As a result, it is extremely important that you have a good print production team with people like Sandy, focused on the details to prevent any issues from arising in the first place.
Prior to working at PRO-TECH, she worked at a variety of companies, including an auto dealership and a junior high school. All of these experiences added to her skillset and help her thrive in her current role where she has to adapt quickly and manage multiple projects and people.
A Los Angeles native, Sandy grew up loving music. Ask her about heavy metal and she can share with you a list of “must see” bands and concerts. She will tell you she plays a “little guitar” and “sings a little”, but our guess is that she is a lot better than she lets on.
Who knows, maybe she will be the one up on stage some day!
Sandy leads technicians across both am and pm shifts and also works what most would consider non-traditional hours, 2:00 – 10:00. However, she has found it stimulating and really enjoys the second shift. She is able to work around L.A. traffic and get more done during most people’s working hours. Sandy is one of those unsung (pun intended) team members who just figures out how to get the job done and is always willing to help others. In her role, it is important that you have someone who is extremely reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
Sandy, we are grateful that you are all of those things and more, and that you decided to join PRO-TECH six years ago.
Thank you for all that you do.
